Team Spotlight Featuring Ellie Fox, Associate Director

We’re incredibly proud of the team we’ve built here at Opus, and to celebrate that, we’re launching our Team Spotlight series!

Today, we’re shining a light on Ellie Fox, who joined Opus Recruitment Solutions just over 4 months ago. In that short time, Ellie has accomplished some impressive things. We sat down with her to hear more about her journey so far and what’s helped her achieve such success.

Please tell us a bit about your role.

I'm an Associate Director, and I focus on the Contracts Business Central Market, specifically Dynamics 365, in the UK. This includes supporting end-user clients implementing Business Central and providing specialist support for Microsoft Partners with implementations, optimisations, and upgrades.

How long have you been with Opus?

I've been here since October, so for four months.

When you joined, what were the key things that drew you to Opus?

I was interested in the market and the opportunities it could bring. It was similar to what I'd previously been doing, but with a different product in a new market. I got a good vibe from Neil, Sam, and the team, which really helped.

I also already knew two people in the Manchester office before joining, having previously worked with them, which was nice. The promotion structure was clear, and the commission structure interested me as well.

What’s your background?

I've been in recruitment for seven years. I started with criminal justice contract recruitment for 3.5 years, then moved to digital health contract recruitment. This involved working with much of the NHS on system implementations.

How would you say your experience at Opus compares to your previous experience?

It's been very different because this is my first time working in the private sector. It was a change, but many skills are really transferable. The change has been positive, and I’ve enjoyed learning about the market, the product, and working within the private sector. It’s been really good so far.

What HAS HELPED YOU TO ACHIEVE AT OPUS?

I believe hard work and dedication, along with using the skills I already had, have been key. Working closely with my experienced counterpart has really helped. I've remained focused and wanted to come in and do well, which is why I joined.

What would you say is the best thing about working at Opus?

I would say the people and the culture. I think the Manchester office is really fun, and I really get along with the team. I’ve also had a great experience with the wider business as well.

Is there any advice that you'd give to someone starting their career at Opus?

My biggest advice is to work hard and follow the process, trust it, and the results will come. Also, work closely with your team members, try to learn as much as possible from them, and collaborate with your counterpart.

Do you have any moments since you've joined that you're most proud of?

I used to do a podcast series in a previous role, and I've brought that to Opus. So, I'd say bringing that here and talking to leaders across the market about important topics like female leadership, senior leadership, and digital transformation has helped me connect with people on a deeper level, beyond transactional business.

Do you have any reflections on your time at Opus so far?

I’ve really enjoyed working here, learning so much in a short space of time, and performing well in that time too. I'm just looking forward to the next six months and seeing what they hold.
